A history SOL and a language arts SOL walk into a bar... Knock, knock! Who's there? SOL. SOL Who?... Yes, Virginia, you can laugh and have a good time while teaching SOLs! Fun Stuff SOL Workshops, presented by Barbara Spilman Lawson and Elizabeth Massie, share high-energy, fun, hands-on, educational activities for teaching SOLs to students of various learning styles, incorporating social studies, language arts, math, art, and music SOLs. Participants also get great handouts and cool free stuff! Fun Stuff SOL Workshops have been well-received across the state. Workshop recipients have included Harrisonburg City Schools, Alexandria City Schools, Rockingham County Schools, Lexington City Schools, the Virginia State Social Studies Conference, the Virginia State Reading Conference, the Richmond Area Reading Council, the Shenandoah Valley Reading Council, Valley Regional VEMA, and others. Here is what some teachers have said about Fun Stuff SOL Workshops: Fun Stuff SOL Workshops run from one to three hours and include make-it-take-it materials and other hand outs. Workshops are available for individual grade levels, individual schools, school systems, or conventions!
